This square rigger tree-bauble is the closest I could get to a Sailing Barge for a tree decoration (There! Quick! There’s a gap in the market you Christmas Craft-Fair types!) but I thought you might like it. Well. we made it to Christmas Eve everybody through all the stresses and strains, shopping, visits to Santa with the children and potential fire and brimstone of the Mayan 21st Dec. For most of us we now enjoy a well earned few days off, all be it I appreciate that there are some (like our own RNLI and the Emergency Services, no end of carers, nurses, police, Forces personnel, Merchant Navy and plenty of 24/7 industries) carry on regardless.

The tree decoration, incidentally, comes from famous Irish silverware company Newbridge Silver ( http://www.newbridgesilverware.com/gift/CHRISTMAS/Christmas ) who do a whole range of tree decorations including angels, sleighs and so on all at sensible prices (plenty around €8 to €9.50 and on up to about €20
