Chart Table

Meanwhile, back on board now that the snow is all washed away our faithful volunteers are carrying on with bits of winter re-fit. One, who has not been mentioned much on this blog as he was busy working away but not at times when we ‘weekend crew’ were doing painting or general work, was John the Joiner. John, as you can probably guess from the nickname, is a skilled joiner and carpenter. It was he who was largely responsible for the reconstruction of the aft cabin from the stored and saved paneling. As I understand it our qualified shipwrights created the floor, bunks, cabins and shell aft to which John attached his paneling and between and within which he made all the cubby holes and storage ‘bins’. Well, many of our volunteers have now taken their leave of us (and of course we thank them for their massive effort while they were still around) and I, myself, have moved to Ireland where I can now only really work on line doing the website and so on, but a small select team are still showing up and working away. John is one of them. This is a rather beautiful chart table John has created on the starboard aft quarter by the bottom of the companionway.  Thank you very much, John. More power to your elbow.
