Ah yes a barge beneath Upnor’s castle … perhaps gone are the days when a barge would turn up this reach to make her destination, beyond, with probably the exception of the Medway’s Edith May … however my childhood memories remain: we didn’t have an engine to help on May Flower – come on barge club, sail the thing!
